Family Camping Trip 2009
This weekend we went and caused some mayhem up Payson Canyon with the Brickeys. It was the much hyped family camp out that we had all been waiting for. Braving our way through thunderstorms, hail, and Neil's cooking (jk:), it is safe to say that it all lived up to the hype. The weather picked up Saturday and Sunday, and we all had a great time. We played a lot of games, went on a hike up the world famous Grotto trail, ate some yummy food, and much much more. One of the games we played was the age old game of Horseshoes. Dan and I played great as a couple and weren't beaten together. As usual there were plenty of funny jokes, stories, and memorable moments. One of my favorites was actually at my expense....we were hiking the grotto when out of the corner of my eye I see a humongeous mountain lion far ahead wondering across the mountains, looking for it's next easy prey, so I yell " AHH! Mountian Lion"! I start to freak out when I realize that terrifiying beast is nothing more than a stinkin' dog...everyone had a pretty good laugh at that one. Saturday night we had delicious, but messy, ribs, amy's potatoes, and peach cobbler for dessert. We can hardly wait til we can do it all again. Check out the pics of all the action. And, warning, there are a lot of them.

Yuki goes to the groomer
Sometime last weekend I realized that Yuki had a few pretty big mats, and that I was going to need some professional help in getting them out. I called Petco and scheduled an appt for Monday at 11 am. I was a bit unsure of how short I wanted them to cut her, and a little worried that she might look like a giant rat when it was all over. When we got there, I almost called it off because their were so many dogs just barking away in kennels, and I felt kinda bad leaving her there (pathetic I know!) ...but I think she turned out pretty stinking cute! She smells so good and is super soft! To my surprise she even had a few bows behind her ears...at first all I could do was laugh, but they are growing on me!

Out With the Old, In With the New
The ol' Buick just wasn't cutting it anymore she had seen her fair share of days, so with 177,258 miles to her name, we decided to start looking for another car. We couldn't decide what we liked (I liked everything I laid my eyes on that was not a granny car) but we looked at Suzuki's...which we really liked, we looked at Civic's, we looked at Corolla's....and finally we came across this beauty: introducing the 2009 Nissan Sentra SR. We want to get the windows tinted soon...we shall see. It's actually very roomy inside, and everytime I walk outside I think to myself, "Dang who's is that?!" Then I remember it's mine :)
All Dan has ever owned before we got the Buick was Sentra's, and he was origianlly not even considering getting another one. This car is by no means a beamer, but it definitely fits our needs and we really like it!

Sister Sister
Kelee came over to hang out with me this weekend while Dan was in Delta playing softball. We had a great time, as always. Friday night we went and saw "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past".

Saturday we went shopping while Dan napped, then took Kelee out to teach her how to play tennis. It was her first time, and she was pretty good! It didn't take her long at all to get a forehand down; next time we play we will focus more on her backhand and teach her to serve. Kelee, you are so much fun! Thanks for hanging out with your boring ol' sis, and for doing my dishes :)

First time for everything
So...I was bound to give in sometime or another. Especially with Daniel as my husband, and almost two years to the date after our marriage it did. He dragged me, practically kicking and screaming, all the way down to Gladstan. I am not sure why I had such an anti golf attitude, maybe because of how BORING it is to watch on tv, or how EXPENSIVE of a hobby it can be, or how I hated the idea of WALKING a few miles with a heavy set of clubs tied to my side....BUT all my complaining was to no avail...Dan had forced my hand, and I finally gave in.
In all actuality my first time golfing was not that bad, it was really pretty fun. I never made par, but I did bogie once. We only played nine holes, and to make my first time more enjoyable we even got a cart! I borrowed clubs from my cousin Misty, and they made things a lot easier because they were actually my size! Putting my pride aside (seriously, Dan is going to die when he reads this...I gave him a lot of crap about him golfing so much) I have decided golf is something I want to learn and get better at...so if any of you ladies golf hit me up!

Girls night
Saturday night I left my hubby behind (in pain, soaking in the bath tub, mind you...cruel I know) to go get some yummy food and visit with the girls in the family. Matt and Adam were at father's and sons, so Misty/Mandy decided it would be a good time for a gno. We met up at Wingers and ate, then got desert at Cold Stone. It was a fun night full of laughter, mostly at Kelee's expence ( and I quote) "You know what's weird is I only get claustrophobic in small spaces." -Kelee Malan I am pretty sure I didn't go through that bad of a ditzy stage in my life lol... jk Kel, I love you and I always end up getting a pretty good ab workout when you're around :)

Memorial Day
Memorial Day was a lot of fun for us! We started off the day by going up to Dan's grandparents house for his traditional memorial day breakfast, which btw was delisiouso! Thanks gpa! After we ate we visited with the cousins and played scum, I was scum or butt maggot mostly every hand, but ended up being the king the very last hand! Dan and I then headed down to Payson and hit the driving range with his family....little did I know I was actually pretty good ( or so I like to tell myself). We spent the rest of the afternoon playing volleyball, which can get pretty heated when you throw Dan's highly competative family in the mix :) but we all had a lot of fun! I got some sun, which I am excited about! A freakin good BBQ ended the night for us... ribs and potatoe salad, yum. Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday as well!

Another puppy post :)
I am pretty sure no one wants to read another post about us playing at the park with Yuki, and it's nothing new and exciting for us either (we do it on almost a daily basis) BUT it's not every day that I get some sweet pics while we are there, so, unfortunately, for my few select readers, you do get to see some more pics of my cute puppy at the park :) Afterall, this is really only for me and my posterity to look back on one day and enjoy, right?? Oh, and last night we went and saw Angels and Demons... I have read the book, and even though the movie told things a bit different that they were written in the book, it was still exciting and overall a good show. I recommend it to you all.

It's That Time Again
Softball season has started again. Dan is playing on two teams, Monday nights with Brick Sports, and Wednesday nights with On Track. He is really excited! Both teams will be championship contenders :) He bought himself a new bat...and if you ask me is a little obsessed with the thing...seriously, after every game he brings it home and cleans it, then just sits there cuddling with it for a minute. ( He thought I hadn't noticed). But at least he is taken care of such an expensive commodity. If you ask me, he is the hottest player, on both teams, and looks mighty fine in those basketball shorts, and long baseball socks; although they didn't offer much protection to Dan's leg last week. It seems like almost everybody who does/has ever lived in Payson somehow or another ends up down at the ballfield, so hopefully we will run in to some of you this summer! All in all, this softball season looks to be promising and filled with action!

If you like Pina Coladas...
Tonight was our little family night...we had a Hawaiian Luau...ghetto style. No, there was no roasting pit in the back yard with a pig churning over the open flames, but we managed to make freaking good Hawaiian haystacks and Pina Coladas. Tacy and Benny came over to party with us and watch the Jazz game. We got some small tiki lamps thinking they would be a fun replacement for "candlelight", instead they almost torched our house down, and sent the tenants running with a loud fire alarm. So we decided it was probably not the best idea to light them during dinner. It was a fun night with friends!
The table, Walmart has such fun "tiki" decore.

Easter Weekend
Dan and I had a fun Easter weekend. Saturday morning Dan played in a softball tournament, which he ended up not being able to finish due to the rain....can't say I was too upset about that :) Not that it wasn't fun watching him, but it was WET. That night we had a surprise birthday party for my sister Kelee. She is now 16! I am five years older, and about three inches shorter...so sad. Easter day was a nice relaxing day. The Easter bunny brought us a few treats, and then we went to visit and eat dinner with Dan's grandparents and his Aunt Debbie and family. Then we spent the afternoon playing hand and foot... which almost started WWIII then quickly had every one laughing so hard (at how silly Gpa Jensen was being with the "rules"). I'm sure someone peed their pants *cough*. Wasn't me. Anyways, Happy Easter everyone.

Yummy, yummy, yummy!
Yummy weather, yummy food, who could ask for more?! Dan had to pay some softball dues to a friend down in Spanish Fork, so we decided to get some KFC and have a picnic at Canyon View Park while we were down there. We played catch, and hit a few balls. We also played fetch with Yuki. I LOVED this sunny day!

Co-ed Volleyball
Dan and I are playing with the family on a co-ed volleyball team. The players are : Fronk, Sammy, DJ, Amy, Casey Gordon, Marie (Sammy's mom), Daniel, and me. Most of our team has not played volleyball on an actual team before, so it is a learning experience, but we are having fun! Here are some pictures of the action!
