Our Pioneer Day weekend...

... was spent at the Jensen family camp-out/reunion. Dan's grandparents reserved the camp ground at Spanish Fork River Park. It was a nice area. We had a huge covered pavilion area with lights, tables, and grills, a horseshoe pit, and a sand volleyball pit, which resulted in some pretty competitive family games.

On top of that, the whole weekend was filled with fun activities for the grand kids of all ages.

One of my favorite activities was repelling. It was my first time, and it was so much fun. I have to admit, when I got all hooked up and the guide told me to lean back over the edge I was pretty scared and wondered if I was ready to die, but after you take that first step down it isn't so scary.

Another one of my favorite activities was shooting at the Sheriff's range. It's quite the shooting range. The have all kinds of ranges with targets at different distances. They also have a shotgun area, which was perfect because I got Dan a Browning 12 gauge shotgun for our anniversary (it's next week, but I gave the gun to him early so he could use it this weekend).

40 cal pistal... I wasn't very accurate. It was the strangest thing, I swear I had the target in my sights perfectly lined up, but I must have been too shaky or something because I could never hit the target I was aiming for lol!

This gun is way to heavy and long for me...as you can tell. I had a sock stuffed up against my sholder, and it still kicked pretty hard, but I managed to hit a couple clay pidgeons.

But I spent most the time as the designated clay pidgeon thrower :)

Some of the other activities included: team working games and challenges, crafts, geo-caching, tubing down the river, and more. The food was amazing, and there was plenty to go around. Our family is blessed with a bunch of good cooks! We had fun singing around the campfire, and roasting Twinkies (a first for me). Mostly we enjoyed each other's company.

Yuki had fun playing with all the cousins who thought she was the cutest dog ever. She was so pooped at the end of the day she ran right into our tent and curled up on the blankets.



Grandpa Jensen "trying" to break a Pinata. Grandma was doing a good job of keeping it away from him, and it even hit him on the head a few times...he didn't think it was too funny, but everyone else sure had a good laugh about it.

Someone thought it would be funny to hide bugs all over peoples things. I'll admit, I did initially think it was real and may have let out a little scream.

Thanks to everyone who worked to hard to prepare meals, activities, and put this whole weekend together. It was a lot of fun!

Lagoon

"It's what fun is!"

Yesterday Dan and I had the chance to go to lagoon with Dan's family. It was SO SO much fun! We got there about one and spent the afternoon riding all the rides, and playing a few of the booths. I didn't want to take the chance of my camera getting lost/stolen/broken, so there are no pictures :( but we had a great time. Roller coasters are probably my favorite thing ever. My favorite rides have got to be the Wicked ride, and both Rockets. Cheyenne was barely tall enought to ride all the rides, and she was fearless! She rode the Wicked three times! Cheyenne had never been on the Mighty Mouse because no one else likes to ride it, I don't mind it, so I told her I would ride on it with her. While we were waiting in line, Dan and Jake decided to try a ride of their own... The "Rock- O- Plane" It wasn't the brightest idea my husband has ever had...it's the kind of ride where you sit cruched together in a small cage while you spin around a million times and get so dizzy you almost barf...well, in the midst of all the spinning my phone, which was in Dan's pocket, got cracked. I really can't say I'm too upset; I have had that same phone since I was 17... that has got to be a world record for longest kept cell phone. I also got quite a bit of sun, which is always a good thing! Dan threw a softball 71 mph and won a baseball helmet. There is no way to go wrong when you spend an afternoon at Lagoon.

Stadium of Fire

This year Dan's dad got a bunch of free tickets from Novell to the "Stadium of Fire" so we were able to go. It was a lot of fun listening to SheDaisy, and the Jonas bros. . . I actually knew more songs from both bands than I thought. Dan's sisters, Whitney and Chey, were singing at the top of their lungs to all the Jonas' songs...as was the rest of the audience under the age of 15. It was pretty funny! We had the cutest little girls behind us who kept asking their mom, about every five seconds, "Is it time for Jonas yet??" "When is it going to be Jonas' turn??" For the first time ever I actually felt like I was going to win big...a Harley Davidson! They announced the direction: ours! They announced the section (out of all the hundreds of others): ours! They announced the row: not ours :( but the winner was only a few rows down from us! We were so close, yet so far... They also burnt the big Stadium flag because it was no longer in great condition, it was a very cool thing to witness. The fireworks were of course amazing! And even though it took us about an hour to get home, the Stadium of "Fun" (as Glenn Beck called it) was well worth it!

Dan was a little skeptical before the show...but once Jonas started singing, even he was singing along :)

Memorial Day

Memorial Day was a lot of fun for us! We started off the day by going up to Dan's grandparents house for his traditional memorial day breakfast, which btw was delisiouso! Thanks gpa! After we ate we visited with the cousins and played scum, I was scum or butt maggot mostly every hand, but ended up being the king the very last hand! Dan and I then headed down to Payson and hit the driving range with his family....little did I know I was actually pretty good ( or so I like to tell myself). We spent the rest of the afternoon playing volleyball, which can get pretty heated when you throw Dan's highly competative family in the mix :) but we all had a lot of fun! I got some sun, which I am excited about! A freakin good BBQ ended the night for us... ribs and potatoe salad, yum. Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday as well!
