Elise is 9 months!

Elise turned nine months on the April 1st.  She weights 18 pounds 6 ounces, which is the 51st percentile, and 27.25 inches long which is the 37th percentile for height.  She's wearing size 12-18 month in pants, and 9-12 months in shirts/dresses.

It feels like she has changed more so in the past 30 days than in her previous months combined!  Everyday I feel she is less and less like a baby.  It's so sad!  It's also exciting, but it breaks my heart to think she will never, ever be my tiny baby girl again, *cue the wailing.*

She has three teeth: two on top, and one on bottom.  The bottom one cut through first, but the top middle-right tooth is growing so much faster.  I find her "snaggle" tooth so incredibly adorable, and I love her new "tooth filled" smile!  She tries to bite down on everything!  Fingers, and even my shoulders have gotten bit a few times lol. She pulls the funniest new faces, and I think it's due to the fact that she now has teeth to play with and run her tongue over.

She can sit up on her own, and she can pull herself up to standing position if she's holding on to something.  She loves to stand, and has great balance.  She has yet to have a hard fall when standing, but when she's holding on to things all I can do is think about worst case scenarios (like cracking her head open) but I guess that is part of life and she has got to figure out the balance between independence and safety sooner or later lol.  We lowered her crib just last week when we found her sitting up holding the rails.

She is not really crawling.  I have seen her army crawl a few times, but more often than not she takes three scoots forward, then two scoots back...she never ends up making it to her destination lol!!!  However, if I leave the room I come back to find her exactly where she shouldn't be (like pulling a plug out of an outlet...talk about panic attack!)  It is hilarious, and sometimes painful to watch her try and crawl!  The funny thing is, is she has the "form" down perfectly.  She will get on hands and knees, rock a little, but ultimately she always drops down to her belly and then rolls to her back, every time.  She is very good at "planking" but ends up pushing herself backwards instead of forwards :)

I have noticed she is starting to throw little tantrums when she doesn't get her way. And she sometimes fights me when I try to do things like: change her diaper, feed her cereal, get her dressed.  Ha ha, she can be a drama queen!!! She is my daughter, after-all.  Good luck to Dan, when the hormones hit he will probably spend a week in the mountains!!!

She loves to be included in everything Dan and I are doing.  As long as she's a part of the action, she is the happiest baby.  We love including her, so it's a win-win!

The day we lowered her crib!

She is so contest playing for hours.  She loves to smash toys together.

She loves to chill outside and watch Yuki and the birds
She loves to "rough-house" and wrestle!

She has been one three hikes now, and loved it everytime!

The other funny face she's started pulling...it cracks me up!!!

Another silly face!
Still such a cuddler! I hope she never outgrows this!
