December is an exciting month! Of course there is Christmas to look forward to, but we also get to celebrate Dan's birthday and Dan's mom, Sue's, birthday! I was going to combine the two birthday posts into one, but Sue is a pretty neat lady and deserves a post all to herself.
I might get in trouble for putting this out on the internet, but she is
now "over the hill". If I didn't tell you, you would never guess. She
looks amazing, and does definitely not act 50! Here's how we celebrated her big 5-0:
Sue and Lorin took a trip to St George for the weekend to celebrate, so us kids got together and decorated the house and planned the party for when they got home. Dan and I came up with the idea to give her 50 reasons of why we love her, fold them up with 50 $1 bills, and put each one inside a balloon. She had to pop 50 balloons to read the next reason we love her and get another $1. All the siblings had a lot of fun coming up with reasons they love her, and laughed at memories they have of her. There were things like "you have a strong testimony", "good looks", "you're hard working." And then we had things like "you tan well" and "you make good BBQ wings". I think she loved every one of the reasons though lol! We also had German chocolate cake (her favorite) and ice-cream.

| Surprise! |

| Dan wrote a little poem for her explaining the balloons |
 |
| Laughing because she realized halfway through that it was a "poem" and started reading it with more "cadence" |
 |
| Ready to pop those balloons! |

 |
| Yikes! Ya never quite get used to the sound of a balloon popping! |
